Abstract: |
A desk-based study of land proposed for a golf course development identified three areas of archaeological potential comprising banks, ditches and other earthworks possibly representing the remains of an Iron Age enclosure in Crow Wood; cropmark features located between Crow Wood and the mineral railway serving Harworth Colliery; and peaty soils of high palaeo-environmental potential which possibly overlay and masked prehistoric features identified over a significant proportion of the application area.
