Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was conducted for a replacement of a lightning conductor at the Dodman. At the same time, the opportunity was taken to inspect the surface of the adjacent footpath, on which several pieces of worked flint had previously been observed. No cut features or in situ deposits were identified during the watching brief on the trench. However, a small but interesting assemblage of worked flint items was recovered, including pieces diagnostic of both Mesolithic period and the Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age. The presence of burnt flint suggested some form of occupation of the site during the latter period. [Au(abr)] |
