Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was carried out to record new locations or items of archaeological interest within the route of the road. Direct impact from construction was considered for some features, which included five Mesolithic, one Neolithic and two Bronze Age items, the rest having unknown or mixed dates. By type there were 16 sites, buildings and settlements, 29 cropmark sites, 6 earthworks, one linear features, three structures including bridges, two surface scatters and fourteen other find spots. An osier bed within semi-ancient woodland was also identified from the Birmingham SMR. No additional SAM, nationally Listed Buildings or parts of Conservation Areas had been added within the corridor. [Au(adp)] |
