Abstract: |
Well preserved structures and deposits dating to the 19th century and early 20th century were recorded during groundworks. Discrete pits were identified in the area of the tannery, although no definitive evidence for the tanning processes were found. Structural remains associated with the Neepsend Rolling Mills were also identified in a watching brief. Artefactual material recovered from the site included pottery, metal work, slag, crucibles, glass, clay tobacco pipe, animal bone, leather and wood. [Au(abr)] |
