Abstract: |
A desk-top study and identification survey were carried out at the site proposed for the construction of a wind farm at Great Hill, near Calderbrook. Most of the features of archaeological interest recognised by the investigations were associated with either post-medieval mining, quarrying or agriculture. However prehistoric flint scatters were also recognised and it was recommended that the positions of some of the turbines be slightly altered as a result. A watching brief over topsoil stripping should the work go ahead was also recommended. [Au(adp)] |
