Abstract: |
The proposed development area was assessed from SMR records and shown to contain a number of Roman finds. These suggested that the site began as a 'skirmishing area', later developed a commercial role and later again became a cemetery. In the Medieval period the site was occupied by tenements which were probably destroyed during the Civil War. \n |
