Abstract: |
Excavation followed the discovery of Roman features prior to creation of a lake. The centre of Roman activity was protected by moving the lake construction, but excavation revealed ancillary features. Ditches, both trackway and field boundaries, and pits, gullies and a metalled surface, dated to between the 2nd and 4th centuries. A rare Roman side axe and quantities of good condition pottery were amongst the finds. [AIP] |
