Abstract: |
No extensive archaeological deposits were recovered from the test pit evaluation. The majority of the surviving deposits were post-medieval and their nature suggested an open area used for dumping. A substantial post-medieval ditch was located and may have represented a boundary or a ditch draining into the Ouse. A few residual sherds of Anglo-Saxon pottery were found and although the area seemed to be greatly disturbed by later deposits some pockets of in situ Anglo-Saxon deposits may have survived.
