Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundwork for a redevelopment. With the exception of a post-medieval water cistern, a short length of culvert and fragments of probable post-medieval garden wall, no significant archaeological structures, deposits or artefacts were revealed during the reduction of the ground level or the excavation of building footings. After monitoring of approximately 75% of the groundwork it was concluded that archaeologically significant remains were unlikely to have been present elsewhere within the development area.
