Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed gravel extraction site. Aerial photographs had shown cropmarks which indicated potential archaeological features. Five trenches were excavated, and a number of large ditches were discovered. One ditch produced a substantial amount of Late Iron Age and early Roman pottery. An undated drain gully and two hearths were also found. A resistivity survey revealed several rounded features and a possible ditch. No recommendations were made regarding further work.[AIP] |
