Abstract: |
A watching brief during the excqavation of 23 geotechnical trial pits along the proposed route of a c13 km water main was carried out on the airfield site. Worked and burnt flint was recovered from buried soils found in two of the pits. Similar, but undated soils were recorded in another seven pits. A single 'V' shaped ditch was also recorded.
