Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during groundwork during redevelopment of a business park. No significant archaeological deposits were encountered, the presence of a layer of colluvium across the south and south-west portion of the site was noted and two presumed residual worked flint flakes were recovered from within it. A large modern disturbance was located at test pit 6, the exact character of which was uncertain. Although no evidence for the medieval field system thought to extend across the site was uncovered, a presumed contemporary buried plough soil was seen. [Au(adp)] |
