Abstract: |
The assessment identified a range of archaeological features including possible Iron Age/Romano-British rounds, a Roman coin hoard, medieval farmsteads and their associated field systems, quays, slipways and related infrastructure along the shore line of the study area, as well as Second World War evidence including a D-Day embarkation hard on Turnaware Point. A large number of sites were also identified through field names and other documentary sources including orchards, lime kilns, stiles and barns and other buildings.[Au(abr)] |
