Abstract: |
A building survey was carried out at The Grange, Bidborough, the building was formerly known as Church Farm House. The earliest surviving part of the Grade II* Listed building was the early 16th century three-bay continuously-jettied main range. The building was altered from its first form relatively soon after construction, probably between 1530 and 1580. Modifications were next undertaken either late in the 17th century or in the early 18th century. A great deal of work was also carried out in the 19th century, and probably early in the present century as well, the house was divided into two cottages amongst other changes. [AIP] |
