Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed deposits which indicated activity from at least the later medieval period. Several undated features were revealed, and finds of tile and brick suggested a previously unrecognised 18th century building in the vicinity, demolished prior to construction of a Victorian school which still stood on the site. Pottery finds included a single sherd of an Early Saxon vessel, in addition to medieval and later wares. [Au] |
