Abstract:		 An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of a proposal to construct a football ground. The site was thought to have had potential for prehistoric, particularly Late Bronze Age and Iron age, settlement evidence and historic sources suggested that a Saxon cemetery may have extended into the southern part of the site. Additionally, gravel deposits beneath the site had a potential to contain Palaeolithic artefactual evidence. [Au(abr)]
