Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment found the Palaeolithic potential was very low, Mesolithic and Neolithic potential was low too, and Bronze Age activity was bordering on moderate. However, the potential for the Iron Age period was represented by pottery scatters and the Romano-British period was represented by two Roman roads. An Anglo-Saxon cemetery and a medieval house, Glyndebourne, was identified. On site B (the Holt) the archaeological potential for Palaeolithic activity was very low and Mesolithic and Neolithic was low, while the Bronze Age was represented by a barrow site. Intrusive groundwork would most definitely damage archaeological deposits. [Au(adp)] |
