Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development. A small amount of Roman and medieval pottery was recovered, although no archaeological features were observed. A copper-alloy bracelet of possible Roman date and a copper-alloy button of unknown date were retrieved from topsoil; 19th century pottery, glass and clay pipe were also recovered. It was concluded that the assessment area had been farmland since at least the Roman period. [Au(abr)] |
