Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of test-pits dug to investigate existing service routes, in order to find a viable entry route for new services. One trench was designed to obtain information on the foundations of the Tomb Chamber, a room at the south side of a chapel. The chamber appeared to have been built over an earlier culvert, perhaps Tudor in date. Made ground containing varying amounts of brick rubble was identified, and a bottle seal showing a coat of arms was retrieved. [Au(adp)] |
