Abstract: |
An archaeological field evaluation was carried out in response to three separate planning applications at sites known as 'South Stoneham', 'The Lodge' and 'Former Glebe Land'. Significant archaeological features and deposits were encountered in four trenches representing a date range from the Anglo-Norman to post-medieval period. Additionally, modern landscaping was observed related to a number of phases of garden design associated with Stone Stoneham House; a Grade II Listed Building, built in 1708AD. Several other undated features were identified. [Au(adp)] |
