Abstract: |
The centre of the study area was occupied by standing buildings relating to the 19th century Egerton Mill (including the remains of the weaving sheds, warehouses and dye works). To the north of these buildings were the remains of the mill pond which ran to Dewhurst Clough, whilst on the eastern edge of the redevelopment area lay the site of the 19th century Egerton Buildings.
