Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological recording was undertaken during groundwork associated with the construction of a new single storey extension. Although residual medieval material was recovered from a post-medieval make-up deposit, the presence of post-medieval layers directly overlying the natural substrate indicated that the site had been extensively disturbed. This was presumably as a result of terracing carried out during the construction of the current building. This appeared to have had a detrimental impact on the survival of any archaeological remains.
