Abstract: |
A watching brief was conducted on the site of a nineteenth century military ditch infilled in the mid twentieth century. The ditch flanked one side of the Ravelin, a roughly triangular outwork guarding the landward entrance into Sheerness Royal Naval Dockyard. The ditch contained debris from the early twentieth century which did not warrant collection bar a number of glass accumalator batteries. The ditch structure was recorded once it had been emptied of spoil. [AIP] |
