Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during limited groundworks associated with the redevelopment of a Grade II Listed Building, Avondale House. This was a large Regency house dating from c. 1830. A photographic survey was also undertaken. The only evidence of activity pre-dating the construction of the house comprised an undated ploughsoil and a probable periglacial feature. The house had been substantially altered, with two major external extensions and considerable internal work. [Au(adp)] |
