Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment considered the archaeological potential of the site, and the likely impact on this of redevelopment. There was no particular development scheme for the site at present. The report showed that the site lay in an area of limited archaeological potential for the Roman, medieval and post-medieval periods. There seemed to be little archaeological potential for other periods. The basement of the present building and earlier cellaring would have removed much archaeology in the area. The report concluded that further investigation would most likely not reveal any worthwhile results. [Au(abr)] |
