Abstract:		 This document is a report on a watching brief conducted at a new development at Roneo Corner, Romford, in the London Borough of Havering, where the petrol filling station is being replaced by another with a new kiosk and underground tanks. Parts of the groundworks were monitored in the locations of both new installations and when sufficient had been observed to be sure that no significant archaeological remains were present, permission was obtained by CPM environmental to stop the watching brief. Naturally-formed river terrace gravels were found below a shallow depth of made ground consisting of modern garden soil type-material, dumping and subsoil.[Au]
