Abstract: |
The watching brief produced a small assemblage of unstratified finds, which included 42 plain clay stem fragments, one stem with initialed spur and one plain bowl. All the clay pipes were of later 18th- to mid 19th-century date. A copper George II (1727-1760) half penny was also recovered. In addition to the post-medieval finds, 20 sherds of medieval pottery were also recovered.[Au(abr)] |
