Abstract: |
The survey highlighted the archaeological potential of the area and demonstrated a limited but significant Bronze Age occupation within the interior of the Lake District. It also highlighted the development in form and intensity in mineral and geological extractive industries. The survey was to serve as the basis for the establishment, by the Lake District National Park Authority, of an archaeological management plan for the area which would define site specific and general prescriptions for the conservation of the relict landscape.
