Abstract: |
A programme of fieldwalking was undertaken on land near to significant archaeological remains. In addition the area attracted a number of metal detectorists year after year and it was thought that evidence may be found to explain this. The material recovered included burnt and worked flint, prehistoric and Roman pottery, medieval and post-medieval pottery and human bone. The human bone may have indicated burials under the ploughsoil, Roman and Anglo-Saxon burials were known from nearby. [Au(abr)] |
