Abstract: |
Part of a sub-circular enclosure with a possible entrance was identified. Numerous large pit type anomalies located across the whole application area are thought to be associated with early chalk mining activities on the site. A former field boundary and other agricultural activities, such as ploughing and ridge and furrow cultivation, have also been noted. Other trenches may form enclosures or have some archaeological significance, however they were weak and incoherent and may have related to recent agricultural practices. [Au(abr)] |
