Abstract: |
Desk based assessment and field appraisal established that the majority of the sites were of mid to late nineteenth century date. These included reservoirs, weirs, a leat and the site of a dye works. Lever Bridge and Alkrington Vault were associated with the early Alkrington Hall Site. In addition earthworks were identified which may have been a pre-parkland boundary. All the sites would need some form of further investigation if affected. Although, it was recommended that Lever Bridge be left completely untouched by the proposed works. [Au(abr)] |
