Abstract:		 An evaluation carried out in advance of a large housing development encountered Iron Age ditches indicative of a settlement of this date in the vicinity, although no structural remains were seen. The remains of medieval sod kilns were recorded, as well as those of post-medieval pyre kilns and a complex of five pot kilns and trackways depicted on OS maps of the 1880s. Industrial activity had been recorded here from the medieval period to the 19th century. [Au(abr)]
