Abstract:
The assessment established that the site had no statutorily protected archaeological sites or monuments. However, there were archaeological sites and findspots of almost all archaeological periods within one kilometre. Deposits of Bronze Age, Roman and medieval date had been recorded within the site but they were no longer in situ as that area of the proposed development site had previously been quarried. Other features included the putative line of a Roman road, undated earthworks and field boundaries. There was a particular potential for as yet unidentified archaeological finds and deposits of Bronze Age, Roman and medieval date occurring within the site. [Au(abr)]
