Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed the partial remains of a rectilinear enclosure known from an aerial photograph taken in 1947, while the subsequent small scale excavation examined and recorded the profile of the enclosure ditch and some attendant features within the entrance way and the interior. No datable pottery was recovered, though environmental samples were taken from waterlogged material within the base of the ditch. Firther, the ditch terminal fill contained a fine single cup-marked stone. [Au(abr)] |
