Abstract: |
The watching brief monitored all below ground works associated with the refurbishment. These had started before the watching brief commenced and an area to the south of the main range, to be used as gardens, had been reduced to match the interior floor levels. The interior of the ground floor to the main range was also reduced, revealing at the west end, a centrally positioned rectangular ragstone lined pit. Only the upper layer of the stone lining was revealed and the soil infill was left intact. [Au(abr)] |
