Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring was carried out during ground level reduction and the excavation of four holes for tree-planting, at a site which lay within a Conservation Area in the historic core of Harwich. The holes excavated were insufficiently deep to affect medieval layers or features. Modern overburden and levelling layers were observed, and three residual pottery sherds, derived from a locally produced 12th-13th century vessel, were recovered. [AIP] |
