Abstract: |
<summary>Trial-trenching was undertaken on an area of proposed development on the site of Bridge Hall. The earliest reference to the hall is 1294; a photograph of c1935 shows a timber-framed house of 17th or 18th century date. The excavation confirmed the location of the hall and established the presence of superimposed structures. The lower building was seen as a spread of sandstone, and may represent a building of medieval date. The later building was represented by foundations of 17th or 18th century date. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 142/1/0 |
