Abstract: |
After an assessment highlighted the site as having moderate archaeological potential, an archaeological evaluation was undertaken prior to the construction of houses. There was some possibility that a building shown on Rocques map of c.1768 may have been within the site curtilage. Trial trenches failed to locate any archaeological features and the only finds noted were brick fragments and 19th/20th century debris. The building on Rocques map must have lain outside the site, possibly to the north. No further archaeological work was recommended. [AIP] |
