Abstract: |
Trial trenching was carried out in an area additional to that investigated during an earlier evaluation. Several features were recorded, including a shallow feature with a narrow gully, both of which contained sherds of early Saxon pottery. A ditch and two parallel gullies of probable post-medieval date, three undated ditches and an undated gully were also revealed. It was recommended that further excavation should be carried out in the area around the Saxon features, and that a watching brief should be undertaken in the areas where undated features had been revealed.
