Abstract: |
Twenty site of archaeological or historic interest were identified within a 250m radius site centred. There were no prehistoric finds within the study area, but the possibility of Roman activity was indicated by features from a Roman farmstead recorded immediately to the north-west, in a similar topographical location to a possible villa at Woollstone, both sites lying close to the Icknielf Way.
