Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during groundworks of a small development. The area was of known archaeological potential, with significant archaeological remains, mostly represented by a concentration of cropmarks, in the vicinity. Many of the cropmarks represented enclosures and prehistoric barrows. There was no artefactual evidence for any activity on the site prior to the post-medieval period. Two sub-rectangular features were revealed which probably represented post-pad foundations for previous farm buildings. Two linear features were also revealed, athough a lack of dating evidence left these unidentifiable. [AIP] |
