Abstract: |
The study area for the assessment contained the possible junction of two Roman roads and the field where Civil War Battle of Preston took place. The New Preston Union Workhouse was built in 1865-8, and the remains survived at the site but were too dangerous to record. A watching brief was recommended during any clearance or groundwork.
