Abstract: |
An archaeological recording brief was undertaken within the Scheduled Ancient Monument of the Norman Cross Prisoner of War Camp, used to house French prisoners of war during the Napoleonic Wars. Trenching disturbed an area of ridge and furrow external to the main camp. Burials associated with the camp were expected, however, no traces of human remains were revealed. Documentary research did, however, locate known burial areas within the camp. [AIP] |
