Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based study and preliminary field survey were undertaken on a small copper mine known as Wheal Harriet, located on the north-east slopes of Camborne Beacon and the north-west slopes of Carn Entral. The mine appeared to have had two separate periods of working during the 19th century, with two steam engines at work during the latter period. The survey established that the mine dumps relating to the three shafts worked on the site were relatively well-preserved, although no surface features of the shafts or the two engine-houses remained. Other features identified on the site included a cobbled mine track and a late 19th century field barn. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
