Abstract: |
A total of five trenches were excavated, three of which produce archaeological remains. Trench two produced evidence of medieval/post-medieval terracing, orientated approximately east-west. This was probable garden feature. Two post holes were also recorded in this trench beneath the terracing. Trench three also produced one 15th century pit. Another small pit/post hole was also recorded from this trench cut by an undated well. Trench four revealed ancient river gravel deposits. Trench five exposed a modern feature, which was most likely a Victorian rubbish pit. [Au(abr)] |
