Abstract: |
A documentary search and archaeological excavation was undertaken on land which lay close to the medieval centre of Midhurst and the town's Norman castle. Medieval material was recovered which suggested the presence of a deep back-filled feature. It was concluded that the feature and fill possibly constituted a silted-up medieval boundary ditch of the town/outer bailey of the castle. [Au(adp)] |
