Abstract:
Harbour Road (formerly Station Road) was built upon the shingle bank which extended across the estuary and behind which Seaton Marshes developed. The car park had been entirely built up over the last 50 years, and revealed a substantial depth of make-up overlying 19th/20th century marsh deposits. The depth to which construction excavations penetrated the marsh deposits did not allow for environmental sampling. [Au(adp)]
