Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was made of c.129 hectares of farmland which was proposed for redevelopment. Overall the archaeological potential of the site was considered high in relation to both the Mesolithic flint assemblage adjacent to Park Farm, and a corridor along the line of the Roman road. Existing and former field boundaries which apparently respected the line of the road (ie either parallel or perpendicular to the road) had to be considered to be potentially Romano-British in origin. Areas of moderate archaeological potential were also highlighted. [Au(abr)] |
