Abstract: |
The watching brief identified the termination of a medieval, possibly 12th century, ditch that may once have formed the northern limit of a churchyard that stood adjacent to the site. An undated ditch and a square pit were also uncovered. Finds retrieved from the investigation included pottery dating from the medieval period through to the 19th and 20th centuries as well as a clay pipe and three animal bones, one of which showed evidence for butchery.
