Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken in advance of land reclamation. The site contained two extant engine houses constructed between 1851 & 1890, and 25 shafts. It was an important landscape, being the main copper mining district of Cornwall during the 18th and 19th centuries and the location of some of the earliest and pioneering engine houses in Cornwall.
